Hello! Welcome to Respite Sound Bath

Respite Sound Bath is an invitation to come together as a community. To be in a space that welcomes you to come home to your heart where joy lives.  Please join me to experience relaxing bliss from the crystal bowls’ vibrational sounds with Reiki. Everyone is welcome. Please note that Jiai Aikido Dojo requires release of liability and this will simply be done when you check in, that all attendees under the age of 18 be accompanied by an adult, and shoes must be removed prior to walking on the mat, thank you.

The picture above is me, Vicky Delgado, playing bowls at mission bay. I first discovered crystal bowls in 2016, and immediately fell in love. I loved their sound and the way they made me feel-complete relaxation and peace. That’s when I started purchasing bowls. My curiosity grew and I continued to buy more and more bowls. I played for friends whenever I could. I first played for the public at an outdoor event in May 2021 and it was incredible. I knew I had to keep moving forward, and I wanted to share the experience with everyone I could, so I completed a training/certification course and practiced every day. From December 2021 to June 2022 I played a weekly sound bath called Sound Bath Saturday. I’ve played private sound baths for small groups, and for large groups at conventions. My experience and certification are necessary, but the most important thing to me is the intention of love that I offer, that people have a good experience and leave the event feeling peaceful.

The crystal bowls' vibrational sounds move you into the Theta brain wave state 4 – 7 Hz just above the Delta state of sleep. Theta is relaxation, a dream-like state, and you may even drift in and out of sleep. I love hearing attendees heavy breathing and snoring! Theta is the brain wave state of deep meditation that allows you to be more receptive to physical and emotional healing, enabling you to experience peace, love, joy, and an overall feeling of ease and comfort. This allows your body to create a more coherent frequency between your heart and brain. Simply put, a crystal bowl sound bath allows your body and mind to rest and repair. This is why I chose the name Respite Sound Bath. Respite: a delay or cessation for a time, especially of anything distressing or trying; an interval of relief.

Reiki is the Japanese word for universal life force energy. It is the life force energy that runs through all of us and all of nature. This energy is always with you, providing you with vitality. It is always supporting you in feeling safe and protected. Reiki is love.

Respite Sound Bath events will take place at Jiai Aikido Dojo. The Dojo is a welcoming, sacred space equipped with a comfortable padded floor. The Dojo is spacious and can comfortably accommodate 80 people lying down. Water with a sealed lid is allowed in the Dojo. Shoes must be removed before walking onto the mat.

Please bring your own props: yoga mat, blanket, pillow, eye pillow; whatever you need to create your comfy “nest” to receive a relaxed, light feeling of calm and peace in your body. Eye masks will be provided!

You are home - You are safe - You matter - Be Still & Rest in the magic of love

I look forward to seeing you, meeting you, sharing with you, and playing the crystal bowls for you!!  Peace, Vicky
